SIZING FOR BRACELETS: Please read before purchasing!

Cape Cod bracelets and nautical hook bracelets are designed to be worn like a close-fitting bangle. Either the ball unscrews or the hook comes undone so that you may open up the bracelet to slip over your wrist. It is not meant to be slipped over the hand (your correct size will most likely be too small to fit over your hand.)

To ensure the recommended fit, please measure the circumference of your wrist with a soft tape measure wrapped snugly around the wrist bone. As a general guideline, we recommend adding half an inch to that measurement to find your proper size bracelet. 

For example, a wrist measuring 6.5" would need to order at least a 7" Cape Cod bracelet. It is safer to round up when falling between sizes. This is a general guideline, as some people may prefer a looser fit or a more snug fit. 

(As a side note, most adults are larger than a size 6". This is the most common exchange we see (with people needing a larger size). When ordering a 6", please note this is a very small size for an adult.)

CARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY: 
Our items are made of sterling silver and solid 14k gold, which are precious metals and will require cleaning from time to time.  When cared for properly, your jewelry will remain in it’s best condition for many years. 

Tarnishing of sterling silver is completely normal and can always be cleaned and polished away, please read the below information about tarnish: 
Silver tarnish is the discoloration of sterling silver items which can take on a yellow or black tint. This oxidation most commonly occurs from air, and different air qualities and environments can play an affect in the tarnishing. Tarnishing can take place even faster and deeper if sterling silver comes in contact with detergents or cosmetics. Even just the chemicals in our sweat (based on body chemistry) is enough to cause tarnishing in silver jewelry when worn. (Therefore, it is more likely to happen on pieces worn around the neck in summertime.)

The good news is that with sterling silver, regular care can really slow down and remove the tarnishing, unlike silver-plated jewelry which will deteriorate no matter what. Keeping your jewelry free of residue when wearing, and storing in an airtight bag when not wearing, will keep tarnish away. 

Please note, if sterling silver comes into contact with chlorine, and certain other stronger chemicals, it will usually cause a quick and dark discoloration of the metal that is difficult to clean until buffed off by a jeweler.

FOR CLEANING: Steps we recommend for cleaning your silver and gold jewelry:
1. Soak in warm (mild) soapy water to remove any residue. Rinse.
2. Use a liquid tarnish remover and small brush to get in between any grooves. (Follow directions and do not soak for long.) Rinse.
3. Finish with a silver polishing cloth and lots of elbow grease for a high shine.
We like to use Connoisseur's brand cleaners and sell the polishing cloths. 

SHIPPING:

All packages are shipped via the USPS. Items arrive in individual Cape Cod Jewelers jewelry boxes, which are then placed inside a padded shipping envelope.

We pride ourselves on processing and shipping your orders as quickly as possible. Please order by 3pm for priority orders to go out the same day.
 
At checkout time, you can choose between three options. Exact delivery times depend on recipient's location:

Standard Shipping: (Currently Free!) $5, 2-7 business day average delivery
Priority Shipping: $12, 1-3 business day  delivery
Pick Up In Store: No Charge

Any item in unworn condition may be sent back within 30 days for an exchange or a store credit. No refunds are offered at this time. Exchanges are accepted for unworn items, however please contact us if you believe there is a defect in your item. Tarnishing is normal and can be polished off, this is not a defect.

 How to send back an item for a size exchange: 
 - Make sure the item is securely packaged. You may use the original padded envelope and the box it comes in. 
 - Include the sales invoice or order number. 
 - Write down the new size or style you would like and any new contact/shipping information.
